Lefem: A Multidisciplinary Journal of Transformation Education
St. Monica University Higher Institute Buea runs a peer-reviewed Journal called Lefem. It is a plural disciplinary Journal of Transformation Education with the mission to publish original works on transformational education. Transformation education at St. Monica University Higher Institute is a process that aims at making the learner and the teacher partners in an ongoing endeavour to bring change and that contributes to overall human development. We transform the mind and the transformed individual changes the society positively. We do this through a professionalization policy in the many courses we offer in our four main schools and the HND Programs. In our transformation quest, we train men and women to be innovative, creative, Self-reliant and productive. Our slogan is “Be the change-to-change others positively wherever you work”. Our trainees are called upon to innovate, create and produce resources that can transform the lives of people positively and Lefem publishes such works from our teachers, students and other scholars. Lefem is a cultural groove of the Bangwa people of Lebialem (see cover picture). It was and is still believed to be the abode of the god of wisdom, and encompasses all facets of life among the Bangwa and neighbouring Bamileke. In it, most secret and sacred traditional governance issues were treated. It incarnates originality, wisdom, royalty and innovation.
